Hygiene Kits

**Note: due to the bad weather we are extending the deadline for hygiene kits until Friday Feb. 12th.**

If you are looking to donate goods as apposed to money, the Office of Leadership and Service-Learning will be organizing the gathering, assembling, and shipping of hygiene kits for Haiti. Make a kit or two as an individual. Kits can be dropped off in the Office of Leadership and Service-Learning (EUC 214). The last day to donate completed kits will be Feb. 12th. For the kit list visit here.

As something to consider, it is always important to both think globally and act locally. As a way to draw this back to our local community please consider giving a matching donation for those in need in our community. The Office of Leadership and Service-Learning would be glad to distribute goods locally in addition to distributing them to Haiti.

    2. Attention Fraternity, College political organizations, Community Outreach Groups, Staff, Faculty, Fellow Spartans, and like minded individuals of North Carolina!

By reading this you have taken what could be the first of many steps in actively assisting the people of Haiti. Whose people are dieing in droves because of malnourishment, lack of hygiene, and all other sorts of peril. They have a standard of living that is beyond a western understanding, with virtually no economy even before the shattering earth quake hit. United Western Methodist church is asking for donations of hygiene kids for workers currently trying to heal the long suffering Haitian people. I propose that we start donation areas around campus and the community and send these hygiene kits to the aid-workers, So that they may have a little relief from what is no doubt a difficult task. This task should be uncomplicated and its results may be more powerful than being on the ground. But we must organize and rationalize a working plan! Please start talking to myself and more importantly to each other. As Spartans and individuals we do not want to look back on this crises and say we did act without heart.

I have faith in everyone of you!

      Sincerely,

      -Daniel Windham
